my 6 favorite tools as a content creator

""It is essential to have good tools, but it is also essential that the tools should be used in the right way." - Unknown

As creators we have a whole plethora of tools available to us that allows us to express ourselves on a scale never before seen.

But figuring out what tools to use and how to use them can be overwhelming.

I have personally tried over 100+ tools and have narrowed it down to just a handful that I use on a regular basis.

These tools are driving both the frontend and backend of my personal brand.

Zapier

Automation together with AI is a game changer for soloprenuers.

This enables us to create highly efficient workflows that normally would require a VA or even a team of people to do.

I personally have built a custom backend for my brand where I do all my creative work from one place. To make sure this system is running smoothly I use Zapier for all my automation needs.

If you don’t know, Zapier is a no-code platform that connects over 6000 apps together so they can communicate with each other.

This allows you to build incredibly sophisticated and advanced workflows relatively easily.

I use Zapier daily. Or I should say Zapier always running in the background, helping me complete various tasks in my business with ease.

Airtable

I used to be a prolific Notion user.

But I found it hard to create a content system that made sense to me. It always involved a lot of copy pasting of stuff and I never found a workflow that felt smooth and effortless.

A few months ago I was introduced to Airtable. I was blown away by how easy it was to use and how effortlessly I was able to organize my content and create automation workflows that made sense.

Since then I have created a custom content creation system that uses Zapier in the backend and Airtable as my user interface.

I now only rely on Airtable to organize my content. I’ve also started using it for other aspects of my life as well, such as budgeting and journaling.

Airtable has been an absolute game changer for me. It now allows me to breeze through the content creation process.

Perplexity

Everyone and their grandmother have heard about ChatGPT.

But I actually never use ChatGPT!

Why?

Because the user interface is terrible.

Instead I use Perplexity. It’s a much more pleasant and efficient user experience.

It allows me to save and organize search queries in a way that makes sense. Not only that, it also references the sources for all the answers it provides me.

And best of all, it’s free to use!

AudioPen

AudioPen allows me to capture my thoughts on the go, wherever I am.

But not only that. It rewrites the transcript from my disjointed thoughts and creates a cohesive and clear text.

This means I can ramble and do a thorough braindump with AudioPen. And at the end of it all I will have ended up with a beautifully written text that gets what I’m trying to say.

I like to talk to AudioPen when I’m out walking. It just looks like I’m on the phone.

This way I can create content when I’m out walking as I can link it to Zapier to automatically bring my ideas into my content system.

Highly recommend AudioPen. I use it all the time.

Beeper

Nowadays we have so many DM inboxes to keep track of.

This can quickly become overwhelming.

Beeper solves this problem by bringing them into one place.

This has truly been a game changer for me. No longer do I need to jump between all my apps to make sure I keep up with all my DMs.

I allocate some time in the day to answer my DMs and jump on Beeper.

This app has really helped me with my peace of mind.

Currently it’s free to use.

Napkin

Have you ever had a brilliant idea only to forget it later?

This has happened to me countless times.

And this was why I was so excited when I learned about Napkin.

Napkin allows me to capture my thoughts with the click of a button. But not only that, it also automatically tags my ideas for me.

That way I can easily retrieve my ideas at a later stage.

As if that wasn’t enough, thanks to the capture system, Napkin allows me to pair up different ideas next to each other. This is perfect for a content creator whose job it is to synthesize new ideas.

I absolutely love Napkin and use it more or less daily.
